Abstract

Depresi termasuk gangguan kesehatan mental yang umum dan serius bagi ibu yang menjadi masalah kesehatan mental masyarakat yang sangat umum dan dapat terjadi selama kehamilan maupun setelah melahirkan. Pengetahuan dan kemampuan ibu tentang depresi sangat penting untuk mengenali dan mencegahnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menggali persepsi dan pengetahuan ibu hamil tentang Depresi Post Partum.  Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui wawancara mendalam terhadap enam ibu hamil yang tinggal di Kota Tangerang Selatan. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis konten. Hasil penelitian menujukkan persepsi dan pengetahuan ibu hamil tentang DPP (pengertian, penyebab, gejala, dampak, dan pencegahannya) masih terbatas. DPP adalah kondisi yang sama dengan baby blues dan dianggap wajar ditemukan pada ibu post partum. Belum adanya informasi dan edukasi tentang DPP pada pelayanan kehamilan menjadi penyebab keterbatasan pengetahuan ibu tentang DPP. Perlunya dukungan pengetahuan dalam bentuk edukasi yang diintergrasikan dalam pelayanan antenatal dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan persepsi ibu dalam mencegah sepresi setelah melahirkan.
