The knowledge and attitudes of food handlers play an important role in preventing food contamination, particularly in restaurants. Objective: This study aimed to describe the knowledge and attitudes of food handlers toward higiene and sanitation practices in food processing at restaurants in the Bekasi area. Method: This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The sample consisted of 63 food handlers selected through total sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires that measured food handlers’ knowledge and attitudes related to food processing higiene and sanitation. Data analysis was conducted descriptively by presenting frequency and percentage distributions. Results: The results showed that a proportion of food handlers still had poor levels of knowledge (57,1%) and attitudes (55,6%) toward food processing higiene and sanitation. Conclusion: This condition indicates a potential risk to food safety in restaurants in the Bekasi area. Therefore, continuous education, training, and supervision on higiene and sanitation are needed for food handlers to improve food safety.
Rusman Efendi, Moudina Ismi Azizah Copyright (c) 2026 Jurnal Semesta Sehat (J-Mestahat) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://jsemesta.iakmi.or.id/index.php/jm/article/view/192 Sat, 28 Feb 2026 00:00:00 +0700 FAKTOR DETERMINAN STUNTING PADA ANAK 6-24 BULAN DI KELURAHAN BEDAHAN KOTA DEPOK https://jsemesta.iakmi.or.id/index.php/jm/article/view/191
Background: Stunting remains a chronic nutritional disorder that compromises the quality of future human resources. Although multiple interventions have been implemented, the national prevalence in Indonesia was still 19.8% in 2024, surpassing the targeted 14%. Objective: This study sought to determine the factors associated with stunting among children aged 6–24 months in Bedahan Subdistrict, Depok City. Methods: A cross-sectional design was applied to 121 mothers of children aged 6–24 months selected from several Posyandu using purposive sampling. Children’s anthropometric data were measured with an infantometer and microtoise. Information was gathered through structured questionnaires and two non-consecutive 24-hour dietary recalls. The chi-square test was used for statistical analysis. Results: The proportion of stunted children was 14.9%. Significant associations were found between stunting and exclusive breastfeeding (p = 0.043), low birth weight (p = 0.019), and parenting practices (p = 0.043). Meanwhile, no significant relationships were observed between stunting and energy intake, protein intake, maternal employment status, or maternal education level (p > 0.05). Conclusion: Stunting prevention should focus on improving maternal nutrition during pregnancy, strengthening exclusive breastfeeding programs, and enhancing parental education on appropriate parenting practices to support optimal child growth and development.
Mizna Sabilla, Himmatul Ulya Copyright (c) 2026 Jurnal Semesta Sehat (J-Mestahat) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://jsemesta.iakmi.or.id/index.php/jm/article/view/191 Sat, 28 Feb 2026 00:00:00 +0700 PREVALENSI DAN FAKTOR YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN GANGGUAN MENTAL EMOSIONAL PADA IBU HAMIL DI WILAYAH PERKOTAAN https://jsemesta.iakmi.or.id/index.php/jm/article/view/196
Background: Common mental disorders (CMD) during pregnancy represent an important public health issue with potential consequences for both maternal well-being and fetal development. Psychosocial factors, including maternal attitudes and partner characteristics, may influence the occurrence of CMD, yet evidence from urban areas in Indonesia remains limited. Objective: This study aimed to examine factors associated with emotional mental disorders among pregnant women in South Tangerang City. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 292 third-trimester pregnant women selected through consecutive sampling from primary health centers in South Tangerang City. CMD were assessed using the Self-Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ) with a cutoff score of ≥6. Data were analyzed using chi-square tests and multivariate logistic regression. Results: The prevalence of emotional mental disorders was 25%. Multivariate analysis revealed that maternal attitude and husband’s age were significantly associated with CMD. Women with a positive attitude had a higher risk of CMD than those with a negative attitude (OR = 2.35; 95% CI: 1.23–4.50). In addition, women whose husbands were aged <25 years were more likely to experience CMD compared to those with husbands aged ≥25 years (OR = 3.13; 95% CI: 1.17–4.55). Conclusion: CMD among pregnant women are influenced by both individual and partner-related factors. These findings underscore the importance of maternal mental health interventions that involve partners and strengthen psychosocial support within antenatal care
Arum Ariasih, Aisyah Maulina Zjubaidi Copyright (c) 2026 Jurnal Semesta Sehat (J-Mestahat) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://jsemesta.iakmi.or.id/index.php/jm/article/view/196 Sat, 28 Feb 2026 00:00:00 +0700 FAKTOR RISIKO COMPUTER VISION SYNDROME PADA MAHASISWA AKADEMI REFRAKSI OPTISI DAN OPTOMETRY GAPOPIN https://jsemesta.iakmi.or.id/index.php/jm/article/view/182
Background: The significant growth in both the number of users and the intensity of digital device use has contributed to an increased risk of Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS). Objective: To identify risk factors associated with CVS among students of the Academy of Refraction Optician and Optometry (ARO) Gapopin in 2025. Method: This quantitative study employed a cross-sectional design with a sample of 109 participants selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected using the CVS-Q questionnaire. Data analysis consisted of univariate analysis and chi-square tests for bivariate analysis. Results: The proportion of students experiencing CVS was almost equal to those who did not, with a very small difference of 1%. This finding indicates that nearly half of ARO Gapopin students have experienced CVS symptoms due to digital device exposure, ranging from mild to moderate intensity. However, bivariate analysis showed that the selected risk factors were not significantly associated with CVS (p-value > 0.05). Conclusion: CVS symptoms may occur in anyone and are not influenced by demographic factors or basic digital device use behaviors examined in this study. Recommendation: It is recommended that the institution conduct health promotion and provide education on CVS prevention through seminars, counseling, or routine eye examinations.
Nisa Zakiati Umami, Stepanus Silaban, Febri Maryani Copyright (c) 2026 Jurnal Semesta Sehat (J-Mestahat) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://jsemesta.iakmi.or.id/index.php/jm/article/view/182 Sat, 28 Feb 2026 00:00:00 +0700
